Who we are

The data controller is Kanoni Consultancy Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 10724587), registered office 802 Timber Court, 84 Abbey Road, Barking, England, IG11 7FA. For anything in this notice, email contact@kanoniconsultancy.co.uk.

What this website collects

The standard server logs kept by our hosting provider when a page is requested (IP address, time, page, browser user-agent). These logs exist for security and reliability. This site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and has no tracking pixels and no advertising tags.

The site has one enquiry form, on the contact page. It is entirely optional. If you complete it, the details you enter — your name, organisation, email address, telephone number, the site address or postcode, and your description of the works — are sent to us so that we can reply. We use them for that purpose and no other. We do not add enquirers to a mailing list.

Enquiries by email and telephone

If you email or call us, we hold what you send — your name, contact details and whatever you tell us about your project — so we can reply and, if we go on to work together, deliver the work. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or the performance of a contract. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for the matter it relates to and for our own business records, then delete it.

Business contact from the public planning register

We may contact planning agents, architects, developers and applicants named on public local-authority planning registers, about the specific scheme they are named on, where that scheme sits near the railway and our services are relevant to it. This is business-to-business contact under PECR and our legitimate interest under UK GDPR. We hold only the data already published on the register — name, organisation, business contact details and the application reference. We do not buy lists, and we do not use this route to contact private individuals about anything other than a scheme they have promoted.

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold, correct it, erase it, or stop contacting you. Replying to any message from us is enough, or email contact@kanoniconsultancy.co.uk. We will act on it and confirm.

The website assistant

Most pages of this site carry an assistant, “Ask about your scheme”. It is optional: if you never open it, nothing about you is sent anywhere. It answers only from the text published on this website.

When you send it a message, the conversation so far — your questions and its previous answers — is sent to our AI provider, which processes it on our behalf to generate the reply, and to nobody else. We keep a copy of the conversation for up to 90 days, so we can see how the assistant is answering, improve it, and check for misuse. That copy is pseudonymised: it holds the page you were on and a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and it is not linked to you. It becomes linked to you only if you ask us to get in touch — the assistant will then ask for your name, email address, organisation, site address and a line about the works, and send those, with a short summary, to us as an enquiry, handled exactly as one from the form above and used only to reply to you. To have a conversation deleted sooner, email contact@kanoniconsultancy.co.uk.

The assistant is an automated system and can be wrong or incomplete. Nothing it says is advice, a quotation, or a commitment on our part, and it cannot tell you what Network Rail will decide. For anything that matters, ask us.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal data. We share it only where a project requires it — for example with Network Rail or another party to your scheme — or where our own service providers (email and website hosting) process it on our behalf, or where the law requires it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, including the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would rather you told us first.
